How Our Chiropractic BioPhysics® Plan Works

1. Corrective

This initial stage focuses on addressing specific spinal misalignments and dysfunctions. Through targeted adjustments and specialized techniques, the goal is to restore proper alignment and function to the spine. This phase often involves intensive care to correct existing issues and alleviate pain.

2. Stabilization

The stabilization stage aims to reinforce the changes made. This involves strengthening surrounding muscles, improving posture, and ensuring that the spine maintains its proper alignment over time. Patients typically engage in exercises and receive ongoing adjustments to support long-term stability.

3. Wellness

The final stage emphasizes maintaining optimal spinal health and overall well-being. Wellness care involves regular check-ups and adjustments to prevent future issues and support a healthy lifestyle. This proactive approach helps patients maintain their progress, enhance quality of life, and promote overall health and wellness.

What Makes Chiropractic BioPhysics® so Effective?

Chiropractic BioPhysics uses the latest in biomedical science to identify the root causes of your pain, discomfort, and other health issues. This means that your diagnosis – and treatment – will be based on sound scientific principles and chiropractic techniques.

All of the elements of CBP are designed to achieve proper spinal alignment. These include the following:

  • Corrective exercises – One of the most commonly used corrective exercises is known as mirror-image corrective exercises. These exercises are intended to correct any asymmetries that exist, either in functional movement or in restricting those movements.
  • Specific spinal adjustments – Chiropractic care is focused on reducing discomfort and pain while increasing the range of motion. Many spinal adjustments do not change the spine’s position in any meaningful way; however, CBP mirror-image adjustments cause the spine to realign, relieving back pain and improving posture.
  • Corrective traction – Many clinical trials have demonstrated that using corrective traction to realign the spine can be much more effective than simply using physical therapy at achieving long-lasting relief from pain and discomfort. Our spinal traction machines at Peak Spine + Wellness are specifically adapted to each individual’s physical characteristics in order to help you achieve pain relief.

What does proper spinal alignment mean?

Spinal alignment refers to the position of the spine in relation to the hips and shoulders. The correct spinal alignment is important for optimal health and function. Research has shown that misalignment of the spine can lead to a number of health problems, including headaches, neck pain, back pain, and even chronic fatigue. Chiropractors use spinal adjustments and other techniques to help correct spinal alignment.

Normal spinal alignment when viewed from the front consists of the spine being in a straight line with the skull centered over the pelvis with the head, shoulders, and pelvis all level. Viewed from the side (sagittal alignment), there should be a lordotic curve (C-shaped curve) in the cervical spine and kyphotic curve (reversed C-shaped curve) in the thoracic spine, and a lordotic curve in the lumbar spine.

Loss of sagittal balance is a major predictor of disability related to chronic back pain. Sagittal balance, or the horizontal displacement of the cervical spine measured from C7 compared to the sacrum, is often referred to as “sagittal vertical axis” (SVA). A loss in SVA indicates that there may be an imbalance in spinal alignment which can lead to pain and disability. When a person’s spine is in an abnormal position, it is more likely that they will develop chronic back pain.

Correct posture is essential to the Chiropractic BioPhysics method of treatment. The curves in your spine help to reduce forces on the spinal cord and nerve tissues, as well as protect you against gravity. However, improper physical activity, injury, and disease can all contribute to spinal misalignment which can lead to other health problems.

There is a wealth of scientific evidence demonstrating the importance of spinal alignment and balance for normal activities of daily living, sports, physical performance, lifting, and injury prevention. Additional research has shown how a loss of optimal spine alignment can lead to increased neck pain, back pain, headaches, dizziness, etc.

Peak Spine + Wellness offers a comprehensive, holistic approach to treating conditions such as back pain. They will work with you to find the best solution for your specific needs.

If you are experiencing pain in your back, neck, or shoulders, we may recommend that you undergo an examination and possibly an x-ray to determine the current state of your posture and spinal alignment. You will likely experience relief from your pain and discomfort if the root cause of that pain is found and corrected. This is why CBP is an important approach to spinal health, as it often leads to significant results that patients desire.
